As I have been doing this aircraft thing for a while, I have noticed a marked increase in the cost of a lot of services that we use to manage aircraft, particularly maintenance tracking program. I'm sick and tired of seeing $6k+ per year costs for something that isn't that hard to do. Hell, I have seen quotes north of $15k a year!

This software is far more advanced and user friendly than many of the other readily available options. These features include:

1.) Calendar maintenance items are set for the end of the month its due, just as FAA requirements dictate.

2.) Tolerances can be added to any item. If a maintenance item is done in the tolerance after the original due date, the next due date is calculated based on the original due date. If done before the due date in the tolerance, it sets the next due based on the earlier time completed.

3.) Users can add/remove inspection requirements themselves and set intervals and tolerances without the need for an anaylst. Inspections can be marked as required, recommended or voluntary based on if they're user generated extra items they wish to track.

4.) Status reports and due lists are cleaned up dramatically for readability and to identify issues. Inspections and parts are separated.

5.) All maintenance items can be set due based on engine, airframe or apu time. Airframe time is no longer the only controlling time available. The software makes it easy to see these requirements.

6.) All inspections can be assigned child inspections and child parts that are associated with it. Signing off the parent task signs off all the child inspections. Inspections can be nested. For example, a B-check can include a nested A-check with additional items. When a B-check is completed, it will sign off an A-Check and all the A-check child tasks.

7.) Task groups are supported for phase inspections. For example, a task group can be created to ensure that the software tracks a calendar limit to complete all inspections in the task groups.

The original Aerolog software is now deprecated. It has been moved to an online based solution that can be found here:

Aerolog

Feel free to send me feedback. I regularly update this software. Access is available to new users for a cost far below that of other tracking software options. Reach out to Dylan for a demo account to play with (demos are free): email
